MYLIUS M60GL is Born, the new 60-foot yacht that redefines high-performance cruising
The first sailing yacht from the shipyard designed by Ceccarelli will hit the water in 2026
Marine elegance, high-tech materials, and sporty lines for a cruiser-racer destined to set a new course in the 60-foot segment
Building fast, comfortable, and customized sailing yachts tailored to the client's needs: this is the mission that Mylius Yachts has successfully pursued for thirty years, continuing to explore the multiple avenues of yacht design and developing synergies with the best designers in the world to maintain its very high quality and construction standards.
In light of this philosophy, the new Mylius M60GL is born, an 18.50 m hull designed by the designer Giovanni Ceccarelli, who has already signed a line of motorboats for Mylius. "Ceccarelli has produced many racing boats, including two America's Cup boats," explains Valentina Gandini, CEO of Mylius Yachts. "It seemed natural to turn to him to launch a new model from an aesthetic point of view but always in line with the shipyard's identity. The owner of this boat had given us a very precise brief, and Ceccarelli interpreted it perfectly, intercepting market innovations while respecting our family feeling in terms of speed, aesthetics, and comfort. The result is a truly innovative 60-footer that combines habitability and performance in a hull of rare elegance."
Concept: High-Performance Blue Water
Aimed at both the owner who loves fast cruising and the one who prefers race courses but also uses the boat for holidays with family and friends, the M60GL is a purebred cruiser-racer that is generating much interest in the market. Thanks to its ability to combine high performance with unprecedented comfort and habitability, it reconciles different needs without ever compromising.
Design: Form is Function
Ceccarelli's signature is evident in the hull's modern and muscular lines, with a voluminous bow and inverse sheer—and in the underwater body designed to be highly performing in racing, but at the same time stable and seaworthy for cruising. Made of pre-preg carbon with a Corecell core, the boat features, in fact, optimized hull and appendages to provide satisfaction in both inshore and offshore races. The predictions obtained through the VPP (Velocity Prediction Program) promise very high top speeds on downwind legs, while a careful study of aero and hydrodynamic flows guarantees stability in every condition.
Sail Plan: Optimized for Racing even with Reduced Crew
With a displacement around 16 tons, based on the customer's desired configurations, and equipped with a bowsprit, the M60GL boasts a sail plan in line with its racing soul: the 24 m Hall Spar mast, coupled with running backstays and carbon rigging, supports a significant sail area, with a 120 sqm square-top mainsail, plus a 325 sqm gennaker. The equipment is completed by Harken Racing GP winches (one central for the main, plus two primary and two for halyards) and hydraulic transversal tracks for jib adjustment. Designed to have a good rating in IRC / ORC races and to be easily and safely managed even with a reduced crew, the layout can still be modified for a more cruising use.
Deck Plan: Aesthetics, Ergonomics, and Iconic Details
Perfectly consistent with Mylius Yachts' "all-round" approach, the deck plan also fulfills the dual race/cruising function. The flush deck runs on a single level without steps or interruptions, and the generous 5.5 m beam translates into ample and unusual social space for a racer of this size. The maneuvers recessed below deck do not interfere with the movements of guests who can enjoy sailing without hindering the helmsman and crew. In addition to the possibility of being protected by an innovative semi-rigid and foldable carbon bimini, the cockpit hosts two side seats with removable cushions and a table that can be easily disassembled for races. Among the iconic details, the two helm wheels with the letters M and Y fused inside stand out, the "eyelid" inserted into the deck that recalls the movement of the wave, and finally, the engine air intakes inspired by the automotive world located on the transom. The latter, once opened, transforms into a swim platform and tender garage, while at the bow the small sail locker will prove very useful for racing and cruising.
Interiors: Comfort, Lightness, and Abundant Light
Light and innovative materials, combined with the mastery of Mylius technicians in composite processing, give life to an extremely light hull. Both performance under sail and the interiors benefit from this weight-saving policy; the interiors are particularly spacious, welcoming, and refined in every detail. Boat n.1, destined for a European owner, features a layout with three cabins and three bathrooms, plus a large dinette amidships: in this case, the master is at the bow, while the two guest cabins are at the stern (one double and one with twin beds); the galley is amidships to port, while the navigation area is to starboard. Inundated with natural light, thanks to the large rectangular windows on the hull, the interiors reflect the sporty and sober taste of the owner who chose white as the dominant color: bleached light oak for the floorboards, total-white glossy finished walls, and, again, white Loro Piana fabrics for the sofas.
Customization: MYLIUS YACHTS' Bespoke Service
The boat is obviously equipped with air conditioning, a home automation system manageable via iPad, latest generation infotainment, B&G instrumentation, and also boasts a removable washing machine, a significant plus in racing mode. In accordance with the Mylius philosophy, the client has ample room for personalization, both in the deck layout and sail plan, as well as in the interiors, where they can also intervene on decor, furniture, and the choice of colors and materials.
Expected in the water in 2026, the new M60GL is preparing to become the benchmark in the 60-foot segment, once again embodying Made in Italy excellence signed by MYLIUS YACHTS.
