CORPORATE SAILING S.L has acquired the national construction,
distribution and sales exclusivity for the Tom28, the match-race
specialized vessel and training boat designed by the prestigious Italian
designer Giovanni Ceccarelli; the creator of the +39 design, which will be
sailed by one of the Italian teams that aspires to participate in the next
America’s Cup. The Tom 28 is simple and light with a great sail plan desin from Ceccarelli Yacht design N° 2897 ; it was principally developed for the Trofeo Trombini in Marina di Ravenna Italy , as the match racer for the Trophy , and now is series built and many boat exist in Italy Europe and USA . She is exciting and performs like a World Class racer even in light air. All the deck fittin gs are optimized for the crew so they can concentrate on the tacticial side of sailing. The design is free from any rating rules and the objective was to produce a pure One Design/Match Racer. The Tom 28 has been influenced by the previous experiences of the well know designer Geovanni Ceccerelli. The world of Quarter tonner in IOR and in IMS the ILC25 and ILC30 boats is well known to Engineer . Designer Giovanni Ceccarelli, having designed many boats for IMS and CHS.

The Tom 28 sports good ratings for these classes. The sail plan is well balanced an d there is the option to carry a smaller jib for female Match Racing. The single spreader mast features a runnerless rig and was designed for all around performance. The deck is layout is simple, you can to move forward and aft without an y obstacle along the length of the boat. The Tom 28 can be towed without a ny road way restrictions on a trailer due to the design incorporated narrow beam. Mould: female of E-glass, and polyester resin Hull: single skin of E-glass, coremat and polyester resin Deck: sandwich of E glass, poliester and PVC core. The high aspect ratio rudder is rudder is characterized by the thin laminar profile which allows good manoeuvrability in all conditions. The keel is constructed of steel with cast iron bulb with a total weight of 690 kg to maximize the righting moment and lift. The a thin profile is used to concentrate the weight on the bulb and reduce the center of gravity. A sandwich of PRFV is used for the keel construction to respect the accuracy required by the one design class. Sail plan The TOM 28 sail plan is considered simple and well balanced. Listed below are the dimensions for the actual sail plan, an alternative to the existing dimensions are being developed by the design studio with a smaller jib that will be utilized for the female match racers. The mainsail and the mast will not change in order to use the same boat for difference in weight. The mast built by LIEVI for the Italian market has just one spreader, no runners and a normal back stay. The mast selection has been chosen in order to have a mast for every condition and not just light airs. The mast data is available for builders interested in the design, a 5% minimum and maximum margin is allowed. Innovative, tons of room for crew to move and a tidy layout are three distinctive aspects of the Tom 28 , and are typical of the deck layout for all Tom 28's.
