Tom
28, the match-race and training specialized boat designed by prestigious
Italian designer Giovanni Ceccarelli (the creator of the IACC +39 design),
has been used as training boat by teams participating in the America's Cup
(Luna Rossa, Desafío Español). The
Tom 28 is a 28ft boat (8.50 meters) with an open design and an outstanding
poised concept: fast lines and a diaphanous deck for agile
manoeuvres. It has served to make it stand out as one of the most apt
boats in match-race as well as one-design and fleet racing
competition. It is very adequate also for training, clincs
and corporate events.

The
Tom 28 was principally developed for the Trofeo Trombini in Marina di
Ravenna, The
Tom 28 Max, the upgraded version of the Tom 28, is simple and light with a
great sail plan. Main improvements made on the Tom 28 Max are a better
finished keel (built at Irons Brothers); a deeper rudder, improving
maneuvrability; bigger winches and additional bulkhead and longitudinal
reinforcements to improve durability. The
