In the family where I grew up, the see is a constant presence. It is lived cruising, racing and indirectly on the drawing table since when I was young.

I was born and I grew up in Ravenna where I live and work. I graduated in Bologna as an engineer. I have been the president of As.Pro.Na.Di, the Italian Association of the recreational yacht designers, and I begun working in 1977 in my father office, he's the designer of the EC projects, that had more than 1000 boats built.

Nowadays I am the main designer and president of the Ceccarelli Yacht Design and engineering, a team composed by other employee, young but specialised in their fields.

My office is completed with the most up to date software and hardware. My approach to the design for both sailing and motor yachts is a "global" approach since I'm tacking care of the whole project: the hull lines, the external design, the deck, the internal arrangement and the hull structures. The boat yard receive then the complete project.

My first approach to the sailing word started racing with dingy, then in offshore races. The nearby Adriatic Sea has been a training field and a rule of life. I won some Italian Championship at the helm and, even now, I follow every racer yacht project directly on the sea. In the past years I worked in the design for both sailing and motor yacht, both for serial production and for one-off. I follow the optimisation of IMS racing yachts in the design for new appendages and the optimisation of the rating.
