Ceccarelli 40 it's a pleasure sail craft suitable for racing and cruising mass. The boat can be built one off , I can give the full package of drawings complete in each details also for amatorial construction ,ready to build , or it can be built series at the moment it's not yet commissioned by a yard I can evaluate the proposal from the yards in the world and give it in exclusive . In designing this yacht my brief is following the objectives:
I have been immediately fascinated by this project since it mirrors my own way of thinking and living the sea. So I tried to find enough spare time as at present I am the main designer of Mascalzone Latino, challenger in the next America's Cup. Hence I designed a yacht which is Mediterraneanas far as conception and allocation of the basic parameters of the project are concerned. The hull has very high racing performances but it is easy to steer even with reduced crew during the cruise. It is innovative both as yacht model and as deck and interior design. The boat is to be mass produced and optimised according to the ship owner's requests. It is suitable for racing in OPEN class respecting IMOCA regulations, in fleet IRC races or as a monotype and a fast cruiser. IThe
design is original from the architectural point of view as for the design
and the deck distribution of the volumes, characterised by a low and soft
lined wheelhouse, as for the distribution of the interiors.
It can be mass produced using hull and deck moulds. The hull is made of
E glass fabric strengthened by carbon and Kevlar, laminated with epoxy
resin. Both the hull and the deck have been calculated respecting the
ABS scantling and the CE scantling. Another model wholly made of carbon
might be built on request.
The hull is the fruit of Ceccarelli studio's previous winning projects among which I cite Dimore del Garda winner and record holder of the Centomiglia race; Machete which won many times in Open class on the Garda lake (it won the Centomiglia race in its class this year too) and at last Tuttatrieste, innovative open which can be considered a turning point in this field because of the way the hull and the appendixes have been designed.
The relation between the weight and the length of the hull is not extreme so to have a good performance even when sailing upwind. The designer used the best calculation systems widely, to make the hull distribution of volumes better and to verify the wave-resistance; he also used VPP to find the right parameters of sail surface and straightening moments.
The keel will be moved by oleo dynamic pumps. As regards the directing instruments I opted for two helms stirred by two wheels, after considering the stern volumes.
The interiors will be proposed in two versions, called CLASSIC and NOUVEAU, according to the ship owner’s wishes. The Classic model is characterised
by two cabins and two bathrooms put before and behind the dinette. All the furniture is structural and made of composite materials, except the floor which will be made of Tanganyika essence and gloss paint. The boat is equipped with a fractured mast characterized by an important sail surface. The mast is made of carbon and equipped with two series of spreaders inclined of 20° toward the stern; it has neither backstay nor structural runners, it has a retractable carbon made bowsprit so that the headsails can be used easily with less crew. The deck is characterised by a very wide cockpit, comfortable during the cruise and functional when racing. The best equipment on the market will be provided.
